This LLL course introduces SDI concepts and technology to the spatial data providers (e.g. engineers who produce new spatial datasets either by observations or measurements of the Earth or by spatial analysis of existing data).
Learning outcomes:
- understand and explain the concepts
and components of a SDI
- define and summarise
the main chapters of the INSPIRE

- identify and describe the
principles, concepts and characteristics of web
services
- list and describe the specifications of
the OGC standard for a Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW),
a Web Map Service (WMS)
and a Web Feature Service (WFS) and provide examples
for each of them
- use web services for data retrieval into GIS or web-maps
